More Cards!!

Hi again, my dear Crafty Friends

Well, it looks like we’ve moved on from the rain for a few days. We’ve already passed the annual average rain fall & it’s only August!! I don’t think we’ve done that for a few years. At last the sun is shining & I’ve been able to have a cup of tea in my front garden patio….Beautiful!!               I’m so sorry I haven’t spoken to you for a while, but I’ve been having hip issues. The cortisone I had didn’t seem to do much good this time, so the Doctor (a lovely compassionate man) is trying alternative treatments. Cross your fingures!                                                                                                                                                               I’ve just finished Seasol-ing all my pot plants (everything is potted!) so, hopefully I’ll have masses of flowers very soon- & lemons – & Kafir Limes.

The complicated card we made last class went very well, even ‘tho it took a lot of concentration for 4.5 hours. At the end everyone was “fair weared out”! – but were very happy with the card they had made.

For the next class I’m changing from Flowering Dogwood & using the “Under the Sea” collection. I really love this set & the colours that can be brought into the fish & hibiscus flowers. I think I’ve already shown you a card I made from this collection. It was the first Heartfelt Creation I made – & loved it. My Blog heading is also from a card I made from this collection. Next classes are on 1st & 2nd September. I hope you can make it!

For now I’ll show you a couple of other cards I have finished.

Until next time……..

More Cards

Hi, Dear Friends!

I just don’t seem to be able to write a blog post consistently, do I!! Never mind. I can only get better, can’t I! The trouble is…..I get too wrapped up in making cards!

We have a class again this week & hopefully will make this card. It is very complicated so I’m hoping we will be able to finish it.

I also have a photo of two more of the crafters at our last card-making class – Olwyn and Margaret. Perhaps you know them. If so, ask them about our card-making. You may like to join us!?

Sunday

Hi, again, Friends

Thank goodness for some sunshine! I thought that the rain & WIND would never stop! I’ll have to make the most of the break, ‘tho, because we are heading into some more of the same.

I thought I’d share another one of my cards today. This one is my favourite so far! I really feel like that about all of them! I get great enjoyment out of making 3D cards and sharing them with you and the ladies who come to my classes. It is SO different from those that I’ve been used to making.

This one is another “Flowering Dogwood” set. 20170705_171915                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 I have included the box envelope in the photo with the card. The flowers have been dipped in the Krystallos Shard Glass so they REALLY sparkle.

Hope you like it, too!

‘Til tomorrow, bye for now.

Winter!

Hi, Everyone

Just been outside pulling out spent petunias and replanting the pots with pansies! I do like our annuals to keep the place looking bright – and goodness only knows we can do with a bit of bright at the moment.

I didn’t realise the fine mist was actually wetting me as much as it did. I was saturated!! Wetcold!!

“Dogwood Roses”

  1. The base card was white measuring 10″ x 6.5″ scotred at 5″ for a side fold card.
  2. Next a mat of coloured card 4.75″ x 6.25″. This colour will also be the colour of your flowers etc.
  3. The white mat measured 4.25″ x 5.75″.
  4. Before this card was attached to the coloured mat the face was covered with a fine, even coating of “dries clear” glue.  This can be applied with either a small piece of sponge or a sponge brush. It is important that the glue is fine and even.
  5. This card was then put into a tray and the Crystal Clear (glitter) was poured over it to completely cover the glue. Tap off the excess glitter  & pour it back into the container throughthe spout on the tray.
  6. Leave it to one side to dry.
  7. Stamp the 2 smaller sets of petals on white card using the colour that has been chosen for your card.
  8. Stamp both sets of leaves with a green ink.
  9. Using markers, colour the flower branch (flowers, stems and leaves) from “Flowering Dogwood and Doves” set and stamp on white card.
  10. Next comes all of the die cutting    – Flowers, leaves, flower branch, and, from white card, the arched window frame, and 2 small corner pieces from “Fleur Borders and Pockets”.
  11. Sponge the top half of each petal with your chosen colour and make as per the demonstration at Heartfelt Creations.
  12. Put a small drop of glue in the centre of each flower and pour in some “Gilt Trip” prills.
  13. Arrange all of your pieces on the card before attaching so that they can be shifted around until you are happy with the placements. My example was displayed on yesterday’s blog. The ladies in my class tried all sorts of different colours & every one of the cards looked spectacular!!

Fun Day

Hi, dear friends

I’m so sorry you haven’t heard from me for a while but I was having problems with my internet……all sorted now (hopefully!!).

Yesterday & Friday some ladies came and had fun learning how to make a beautiful “Dogwood Rose” card. Some became Birthday Cards; some became Wedding Cards; some were pink; some were blue & some were aqua; ALL were very pretty & sparkley!!

This is the prototype card :    IMG_5612

The whole of the white card you can see was absolutely COVERED in fine glitter (Raini Chawla’s Crystal Clear). It looks SO pretty!

20170630_150821_001

Concentration!!! The house was SO quite with everyone so intent on what they were creating!

This is Beryl. “Should I try shifting these flowers around a bit?”

We used no less than 8 different Heartfelt folders of stamps and dies –

  • Flowering Dogwood stamps & dies
  • Flowering Dogwood and doves stamps and dies
  • Fleur Pockets and Borders dies
  • Botanic Window die
  • and sentiments from Classic Messages, Heartfelt Expressions &/or Classic Wedding Wishes.

I will tell you a little more tomorrow on just how we went about making this card.

Many thanks for dropping by today.

Hugs

P.S.   Veronica has posted some other photos on Facebook . They are well worth a visit!!

Card Week

Hi, my very dear crafty friends,

20170516_174217_004  Here is another of the cards I designed using the “Under the Sea” Collection from Heartfelt Creations.

I scattered some prills around (adding some “sandy” texture) & used some Crystal Effects on the shells. I really loved making the Hibiscus flowers. They are the same as the ones in my blog heading.

Don’t forget that we have card making this week on Thursday, Friday & Saturday & then again on Thursday the 30th June & Saturday, 1st July. I’m looking forward to seeing you all & helping you to create some AWESOME cards! Please confirm your attendance by sending me an e-mail through the “Contact” heading top right of this page.

See you soon

A Little Bit More

Hi, again, dear friends

As I said last post, the card I shared with you was using stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations. The actual set is called “Under the Sea Collection”. Today’s card has kept me out of trouble for a while – trying to master the technique of making roses! The set I used was the “Classic Rose Collection”. I also usedthe Botanic Window die.

It is very “glittery” but it doesn’t really show up in the photo.

Well, that’s it for today! See you tomorrow!
